Bees
So….. you know bees make honey, for bees. And then us humans come along and steal their honey. When we steal their honey we do things like use smoke to calm them down. We might crush them when handling them. We use other substitutions for honey to feed them so we can take their honey. We don’t give them any compensation for their honey. You know what that means, right. We shouldn’t eat honey.
Yeah, that doesn’t convince me. I have to admit, I love bees. I love honey. I’ve actually had a dream of retiring and becoming a beekeeper for quite a few years so I know a thing or two about bee keeping. I wonder, do the people who think bee keeping is so brutal ever consider that bee keepers have an interest in keeping their bees healthy and safe and aren’t just stomping around out there throwing screens around and such. They have a vested interest in protecting their hives. I assure you, beekeepers out there are highly interested in good quality feeding. And you don’t take all the hives’ honey - that would be stupid.
Anyway, I just can’t see myself ever giving up honey. It doesn’t make any kind of sense from a health perspective and I don’t see any legitimate animal cruelty going on here.
